Team History Report and Editing Team Universal IDs

Providing details of all related teams shared by the same Team Universal ID, the Team History Report is now available for Full Admins and Commissioners via the Team Pages under the Reports tab.

Admins can use this report to edit team IDs which allows for the connection of one team to another or disconnection of a team from other copies. This can be used to correct mistakes made in the team registration or team cloning process. For example, if a team was registered using the wrong Team ID or registered as a new team instead of a returning team.

Follow the steps below to connect or disconnect seasonal teams:

To Connect Seasonal Teams Together:

  1. Navigate to the team’s page you wish to connect an existing team to and select the Reports tab. On the Team History report click on the mini menu next to the Reports menu and select Edit Team History

For example, we are currently on the Ohana Academy team page because we wish to connect this team from President's Cup to an existing team that is already built within the organization.

  1. Select Connect Team to a Different Roster and enter the Team ID of the existing team you wish to connect this team to. Upon entering the Team ID, a dialog box will appear asking to verify that is the correct existing team associated with the Team ID. Click Yes to verify it is the correct team, and click No if it is not. Choosing either option then returns you back to the Edit Team History screen.
  2. If selected Yes, the existing team name will appear in the Team Name field. Click Save to proceed. After clicking Save, you’ll then be asked one more time to confirm your choice before it is final.

  1. Once confirmed, the screen will refresh with your previous team connected to the existing team via the Team UUID. Your previous team will adopt the team name and ID number of the existing team. The full team history and all related teams connected by the Team UUID can be viewed on the Team History report.

For example, below we can see the Ohana Academy team is now a connected team with Ohana Maui Academy BU14 and has adopted the team name and team ID number. The history of the previous team (Ohana Academy) being part of the President’s Cup has joined with the history of the existing team (Ohana Maui Academy BU14).

  1. Connected teams can then quickly build rosters based on team staff or players that are rostered on the related teams. Click here for more information on this process.

Important Notes:

  • If your season is synced to Elements Schedules, the updated Team Information will automatically sync after this modification is made.
  • You cannot connect a seasonal team to another team if both teams already exist in the season.

To Disconnect a Seasonal Team and Create a New Team:

  1. Navigate to the Team’s page you wish to disconnect and select the Reports tab. On the Team History report click on the mini menu next to the Reports menu and select Edit Team History

For example, we are currently on the Pau Academy GU13 team page because we wish to disconnect this team from President's Cup and create a NEW team to be in season instead.

  1. Select Create New Team with No History and enter a new team name. Upon clicking Save, a dialog box will ask you to confirm your input. Click Confirm to proceed or Cancel to go back to the Edit Team History screen.

  1. The new team will be created with the same team attributes as the team it was originally created from but with a new team ID and the new name entered on the Edit Team History view.

Since we have disconnected the teams, the Ohana Select GU13 team is now in President’s Cup while our original team, Pau Academy GU13 remains in State Cup.

Both teams can now be viewed within the Clubs and Teams view.
