Import and Modify Game Events Generated Outside of Demosphere

Full admins, commissioners, and schedulers (with permissions to import games enabled) can now import external game events into the Demosphere system. This process is ideal for organizations that use a 3rd party website to create their seasonal schedules but conduct their participant registration in Demosphere. Importing external game events will allow team members to still utilize features on the Team Page and the Mobile App such as the team calendar and app messaging features.

To ensure a successful import, be sure to have the following information before starting the process:

  1. Have the home or away team’s UUID available. The team UUID will need to be an exact match to ensure a proper import.

  2. Required game information:

    • Game Numbers, Dates, Times, Durations

    • Name and address of the event location and surface

    • Home and Away Team Names

To begin your import:

  1. From the Demosphere Universal dashboard, select Teams then select the Settings tab and click on Import External Events. Choose the destination competition and season from the dropdowns and click ‘Download .CSV Template’.

  1. Fill in the template as follows:

    • Game #

    • Date -  Format must be MM/DD/YYYY - Required

    • Time - Required

    • Duration - Numerical values only. If the duration is not set in your import file, a duration of 60 mins will be set as default for the event.

    • Location - Required

    • Surface Name

    • Street Address

    • City

    • State: Input the full state name, not the abbreviation. i.e. California, not CA.

    • Country: Input the full country name, not the abbreviation. i.e. United States, not USA.

    • Zip/Postal

    • Home Team UUID - At least one UUID is required per game event for either the home or away team.

    • Home Team - At least one team name is required per game event for either the home or away team.

    • Away Team UUID - At least one UUID is required per game event for either the home or away team.

    • Away Team - At least one team name is required per game event for either the home or away team.

Note: Be sure to not manipulate the column headers.

  1. Once your file is ready, save the file locally on your computer. You can then drag your .CSV file to the blue upload area on the import screen or click the target area to select from your computer's files.

  2. Click Next to review your data to be imported. You will be able to correct some errors directly on this view depending on the type of issue identified. If errors can not be amended on this view, they must be fixed on your template and then re-uploaded.

Note: Values in orange will overwrite existing (or replace missing) data.

  1. Once the file has been corrected and reviewed click Import Data. When the import is complete, you will receive an email confirmation.

  2. External game events can then be viewed on the Team Page on the Info tab under the section titled Game Schedules and on the Calendar tab on the Team Calendar view. Team members will also be able to view external game events via the Team Page.

 Modifying Imported Game Events

Follow the steps below to modify imported game events.

  1. Navigate to a team page and click on the calendar tab

  1. Once on the team calendar, locate and click on the external game event.
